The Regiment graphic represents the first black pilots to serve in WWII. In 1939 the NAACP targeted the military’s segregationist policies in order to integrate the armed forces and in 1941, the Corps settled in creating a segregated unit to train black pilots and ground crews at Tuskegee Institute in Alabama. The 332d, as shown between the paws of the panther, was a pursuit group comprised of all black pilots, whose purpose was to escort bombers over enemy lines.
With the above serving as inspiration, our design approach was to create our own military-inspired patch for REBEL8 and Killer Mike.
