The Dusty graphic was created in honor of 80s WWF wrestler, Dusty Rhodes. Rhodes was a working man and a son of a plumber. After being jumped by rival Ric Flair and The Four Horsemen, Dusty was put out of work due to a broken ankle. Upon his return, he came back with his iconic promo “Hard Times,” highlighting the Blue Collar Working Class over the 1%. This was a direct jab at Ric Flair, who had a privileged upbringing and never had to experience being part of the working class lifestyle.
We took inspiration from Dusty Rhodes and old hardcore merch. With a punk DIY screenprinting approach, we only used white ink and kept the art bold and unforgiving.
